Quote it. Just carry the source with you.

Text on this site may be quoted with attribution and a link. The figures belong to the bodies that published them. Everything else on this page is the small print behind those two sentences.

You may

  • Quote passages in a report, submission, memo or article
  • Use a figure in a slide, as long as you carry its source with it
  • Teach from it, cite it in a brief, hand it to your legal team
  • Link to any page, from anywhere, without asking

Name Eco Worldwide and link to the page you took it from. That is the whole condition.

You may not

  • Republish a page, or a substantial part of one, as your own content
  • Lift the comparison tables or assembled registers as a dataset
  • Present a figure as ours when it belongs to a certifier or regulator
  • Strip the qualifier off a number and quote what is left

The work in a comparison table is the assembly. Copying the assembly is not quoting. Full conditions are in the terms of use.

Build a citation

Pick a page, get the attribution line, paste it. Today’s date is filled in as your access date.

The figures are not ours

Almost every number here belongs to somebody else

A certifying body, a regulator, or a study published it. It is quoted here for reference with its source named. If you are going to rely on one commercially, take it from the original — linked on every page — and check its version. A correct quotation of a superseded document is still the wrong answer.

Dates beat pages

The verification date is the promise, not the page

It means that on that date a person opened the source and confirmed the figure was still there and still said this. It is not a guarantee that nothing has changed since. Standards get revised on their own timetable, and regulators amend without telling anyone.

Not legal advice

This tells you the rule. It cannot tell you if you comply

Whether a specific claim on your specific product is lawful in your market is a question for a lawyer who has seen your evidence. Reading this site creates no professional relationship. The claim checker returns the operative test with its citation — it does not know your product, your certificates or your wording.

No warranty

Provided as it stands

No warranty that the material is current, complete or fit for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, Eco Worldwide is not liable for loss arising from reliance on the free reference material. Nothing limits liability for fraud or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Trademarks and independence

GOTS, GRS, RCS, OCS, the Materials Matter Standard, Textile Exchange, OEKO-TEX, Cradle to Cradle, bluesign and every other scheme named here are the marks of the bodies that own them, used descriptively. Nothing implies endorsement by or affiliation with any of them, and no scheme has editorial involvement here.

Sponsorship buys a labeled placement beside a page and never a line inside one — what that does and does not buy is on the sponsorship page.
